Interview With Gavin Rothery | Visual Effects Supervisor, ‘Moon’

I sat down to chat with the visual effects supervisor of Moon, Gavin Rothery. Gavin has worked on a wide range of projects from video games to adverts. I began by asking him how he would define his varied career.

You can listen to the interview here on Soundcloud.

We talk comics, art, video games, the making of Moon and his upcoming film Archive. It’s always fascinating to hear professionals talk about their craft, and Gavin gives some great insight into the creative process behind the Moon and his relationship with director Duncan Jones.

After discussing Gavin’s career and influences, we start to talk about Moon at around the 35 minute mark.

It’s worth a listen if you’re interested in any kind of arts or visual effects, or just want to hear more about how Moon was made.
